I emailed Jan and told him all about these headphones, he said he was going to order some and test them out. I think he's really going to like these. Buy the way this is for the WIRED VERSION, not the wireless. I'll think he'll be impressed with these.

Can you use regular headphones with the "processor"? If not, I wonder if it would be easy to mod to use other headphones

They look like Beyerdynamic 250's with Audio-Technica Pad thingies, looks interesting, kind of expensive though, I mean, 400 euros...geez, I'll get some senns instead.

does the 200 euro version not come with the source unit??

the earpads look really comfortable, like the HP890's ones, are they comfy?

Yes, I believe there are two headphone jacks on the front panel.

I mentioned the SBC HP1000, the headphone in the HP1500 system that is sold separately, in a thread where Dr.Meier made a review/comparaison about the new ultrasones. But mysteriously the whole thread disappeared without any trace.

Anyways in the 2003-04 philips catalogue the HP910 is absent while the HP890 is still mentioned. So I think the HP 910 will be discontunied and replaced with the HP1000 ???

How many people do you think will buy the wired one's?

Hmm, cable for good sound quality, 200.00 cheaper.

While your figuring this out try this question.

How many electrician's does it take to screw in one light bulb?

You'll get it.

Sure I hate wired headphones, that's why I still use my wired Optimus Pro 155's for more applications.

Why not get wired rather than wireless.

Too bad the DSP PRO had me sit there there watching a dolby surround encoded movie for more three hours straight, and not the Sony MDR-DiSthis5100, ActslikeitWorks791, and Hearo 777 Q?, but the DSP Pro did seem to really do the trick for me.

Phiilps HP1000 got a very favourable response in the latest issue of Swedish hifi magazine (Hifi & Musik, if I recall correctly).

They seemed to think it was a high end quality headphone soundwise, although I may not trust their opinion based on their earlier headphone comments

One thing about the spec of these headphones that I like a lot is that they support both Dolby Prologic 2 and Dolby Headphone. Dolby Prologic 2 interpolates 5.1 channels from Stereo sources. I think it adds a lot for older 2-channel movies.

More controversially, I also think it improves the sound of music, adding some very realistic atmosphere. While it is possible to process Dolby Headphone on pure stereo input, I think it sounds a lot better with Prologic 2.

The Pioneers also support both Prologic 2 and Dolby Headphone, and I think the combination works wonderfully.
