Jack connection causes Wi-Fi dropouts on iPhone SE

When I plug my SE535s into the iPhone SE's headphone jack, the Wi-Fi signal goes down. Has anyone experienced anything similar? What may be causing this? Does the headphone cable somehow jam the radio?
