They really hurt my ears after a few minutes. The sound is so awesome, I dont want to get rid of them. I love everything about them except the comfort, which in my opinion is poor. I sold my HD 485s just to afford the D1k a while back and I am really regretting it.

Ive googled and searched here for mods for the padding that will make it more comfy, but found nothing feasible. I'll have to totally customize my own pads because the stock version are just terrible. I could wear my HD 485s all damn day and not feel a thing, after a few minutes of use with my D1ks, my ears are soar.

Is my set defective ? lol I bought them because the mass amount of research i did on them said they were comfy.

They are really comfy, but the pad may be too small for you ears.

I've got both pairs and whilst the 1k's are comfy the pads are more Supra-aural inclined (at least for my huge ears) - i do find if they height adjustment isnt set correctly i do get quite sore earlobes after a while - but 5 'clicks' down does the trick.
