What is the point of the check box next to a song name? can i like turn it off or make them all unchecked?

if the songs are in your library it will
-be put or updated on your ipod if your ipod is configured that way
-automatically play after the preceding song

and you can uncheck em all by highlighting all your songs, right click, and left click "unselect selected"
