Huzzah! They should have just replaced 128 bit songs with the 256 bit DRM free songs. I guess all those people that want 285039281 songs on their ipods would rebel though...

More like thousands. This thread has led me to the Amazon site, and the massive content therein. Used to only buy CDs (mostly from Amazon) because of my fairly esoteric tastes, but now have the musical world available for download.
Amazon is encoding with v0 3.97 lame (extreme) which is awesome. Not sure if I'm going to like not having a lossless version of the albums but we'll see. Isn't the latest lame capable of gapless? Testing now...

It is good that they lowered the price, why it was more to begin with...why knows...but I would like to see more cds in Plus. Every time I go on there just to see whats new, I barley see new Plus tracks.

Really great!
Not only did Apple drop the price on DRM free tracks, but there are now lots more of them as well.
