iTunes 7.0.1 was released yesterday, hopefully this update solves all of the issues people have been having.

I never had any real issues with the software since day one. The only small issue I've had is the extreme decrease in speed with every feature of the program compared to v6.

Are everyone's problems with iTunes 7 for Windows?

(just wondering when it will be safe to upgrade from iTunes 6 on a Windows machine. Works fine, though, on my dad's Intel iMac).

I still cannot install the damn thing

All I get is a message saying "The installer cannot upgrade Quicktime 7 for Windows Public Preview. Please uninstall first." and "The installation did not complete successfully. iTunes requires QuickTime."..

And when I try to install QuickTime I get the same message as the first one that popped up for iTunes. No error codes or anything

I had only one real problem with 7.0, which was cured by a reboot. So far 7.0.1 has worked fine...

I have yet to have a single problem with either itunes 7.0 or 7.0.1 with my Asus W7J laptop running Windows XP. The only difference I've noticed bettween the two versions is the smoother transition between album cover art with itunes 7.0.1. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Later.
Do!

I occasionally had the distorted audio problem with 7.0, which required a restart of iTunes.. Other than that everything was pretty smooth. I actually find it runs better than previous versions, even down to things like scrolling backwards in a playlist. I haven't had the audio problem since updating to 7.0.1.

I never had a problem with 7.0 so I think I will hold off on updating for now.
