Which of these alternatives gives superior SQ? Or are they the same?
Itransport - Digital Coax - High quality DAC
or
Laptop with external HD - External USB/Digital Coax Converter - Digital Coax -High quality DAC.
In both cases the files are ripped on the laptop with either WAV or ALAC.
Itransport is very convenient, no computer need for playback however it costs more than just adding the USB/Digital converter.
I have no way to compare the SQ other than buying both. hAs anyone compared these alternatives? You would expect the SQ to be the same.
