It sounds like paper is stuck in my right ear...

Through out all day today, my right ear has been sounding abit funny. I got home from work and was yawning. As I was yawning, my right ear made this sound like a thin piece of paper was rustling inside it.

I lightly put my pinky finger in my ear to pick out whatever it was, and it sounded like I was scraping the paper lightly. But only in certain angles it did that. If I press up on the bottom back side of my ear I hear the paper rustling/crunching sound more.

I don't want to use Q-Tips, as they might push whatever it is deeper into my ear canal.

Anyone else have this sensation?

I am going try and setup a ear Dr. appointment tomorrow.

sounds like a little fluid in the ear, it will usually sort itself out. may be a minor infection or a cold

Hmmm...maybe a pregnant spider crawled into your ear last night and laid a nice sack of eggs in your canal....I kid, I kid. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Funny, I have had the same problem, I am pretty sure its fluid in the ear though.

its fluid. lay down on your side with the rustling ear on the bottom and it will drain out. i get that when i swim or get dunked in toilets by the bigger boys.

Water in the ear...I've had that before. This doesn't sound like that.

It sounds like...say you took apart a KSC35/75 and you were pressing on the driver membrane & it makes that crinkly sound...thats what it sounds like.

My dad once had a spider in his ear for about a week. The whole time he thought it was water in his ear. One day we were sitting at Jiffy Lube and it just climbed out, a little hairy bugger. Pretty gross...

Egads, I hope that's not the case. Yeah, go see the doc ASAP. The good news is that eardrums can repair themselves--heard from a pharmacologist friend.

I would have rather had the spider than damaged drums.

I can still hear things OK...nothing sounds out of the ordinary.

Simple test: Rub your thumb against your fingers next to your left ear, then rub them together against your right ear. If they sound the same you haven't got a perforated eardrum.

Stop scaring the poor guy..
