The reason is that the search function returns a hit if it sees, say, America.

Since I don't see the answer to the question yet, it's the issue that subscribers just got in their mail, which, I believe, is the...uh...already misplaced it...I'm pretty sure it's the September issue. Now, where did it go? Last time I remember reading it was in the restaurant...

EDIT: Found it, confirmed, in the September 2003 issue with the Audio Physic's Virgo III on the cover, p. 13, last column.

Why would Stereophile publish a letter about condoms? Can they be used as earplugs? Or are they some stability tweak for amps?

Ribbed condoms make excellent tube dampers. There is an incredible reduction in microphonics. However, you must purchase the silicone version or else they melt to your tube.

In regard to the bathroom use of audio mags; I started writing stuff for PFO only because I knew it would be much harder to use my review as tp if you had to wipe with a computer screen.

Eric343, I'll be looking for your letter!

OK, I arrived home to the Sept issue in the mailbox.

Eric's letter is there. Nice job! Another exclt head-fi plug.

No, you blow them up and then tie the ends together -- cheaper than an inner tube. You do need to use more of them, but that allows you to distribute them more evenly, etc.

(Smiles evilly with the image of many Head-Fi'er's blowing up condoms.)

Hey, good idea... have to get some from the brother of a friend of mine... (I fixed his car amp once... he and his GF were the planned parenthood reps for my school, or at least was before they graduated)
