I recently attempted to check/adjust balance and offset of the tubes in my Stax 006TII amplifier. On one channel, the balance only adjust down to 64 VDC, +/- a few volts in fluctation. The other channel balance easily zeros, and the offset on both channels zeros fine.
I am pretty sure I am following the procedure correctly as everything else adjusts as it should. I tried a few different tubes (all tested very good on a few tube testers I have), and they all produced the same 60+ voltage balance problem on the one channel.
The unit seems to sound ok (although I only have a 252S to compare to).
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what I might be doing wrong, or what might be wrong with the amp to cause this issue?
