That is what you purchased, correct?
It is not a preamp, it's a DAC, a playback only device. You connect it to a speaker or headphone amp to play audio from your PC. It is not a recording device like the USB turntable you had. For that you need a phono preamp and an ADC / sound card / audio interface that has a line-input.
