Isolation & weatherproof - HD25 vs M50 vs ES10?

the hd25 is also considered one of the most isolating headphones out there.
very popular among drummers to listen to click tracks while playing drums. if that gives you an idea of the isolation abilities.

Yeah, HD25 is probably as water-resistant as you can get. I'd turn the cups upside down and use a different cable though, or else some water could seep into the connectors.

Well not waterproof per se, they just have to withstand hundreds of hours of mild to heavy rain. I live in Vancouver, Canada, and it rains more than half the year. I go out often with my portable audio, which can be drenched. 99% of the time, I also wouldn't wear a hood or anything over it.

I've considered them, but I don't find them particularly comfortable or appealing. The only IEMs I've really been interested in are JH16s.. which may be SLIGHTLY out of my price range unless they can also replace my HE5/EF5 for home audio.

IEM'S are a much better choice . That being said the Hd25's are the most weatherproof, however , a large plastic bag over your head is required to be waterproof.

I would not recommend headphones considering the continuous rain, IEMs are your best bet, I did have HD 25's wore them in strong rains a few times, but it was scary as they are not cheap.

A lot of people on here say the JH13 is better than the HD800 and just use it for their home and portable.
I'd get it if it wasn't so expensive/I didn't already have a good set up.

Yeah, wearing expensive audio gear in extreme conditions; iem or not, seems like a bad idea. Unless this time outside in rain accounts for most of your listening time why not go with something cheaper with decent sound quality and noise isolation so as to not risk trashing thousand dollar iems?

M50s probably offer about 70% of the isolation of a quality IEM. They're closed plastic design would survive rain I'd guess but I'd be concerned about the pleather lining of the headband mostly. They're decent portables as they fold up and generally look cool but the leads are very long.

Please note I am not familar with the other two headphones you mentioned, I'm not necessarily recommending the M50: just trying to give you a summary

PS I keep a cheapie pair of Kanen in ears in my bag for when it rains etc.
