Currently I mainly use my E4Cs when commuting.
However. I like the ability of the Beats to mute the noise filtering to communicate with the outside world when necessary without popping out my E4Cs, to answer calls and to have a build in headphone amp.

I do not want to discuss the Beats audio quality or the necessity of noise cancellation circuits. I just wonder how good the isolation of the ear pads works for the people that do NOT wear the headphone. I do not want to annoy the people around me on the plane or train with my taste of music :).

Anybody owns a pair or had a seat neighbour on a flight who wore some Beats yet ?

Thank you for your opinion.

I'll caution you: Every pair of beats I've ever tried at any apple store eventually developed an atrocious hum in one or both of the ears.

There are better, cheaper isolating headphones that don't give any money to monster cable.

That, or you could pick up a shure PTH (push to hear) module and put it with your E4cs.

So is the hum independent from the source ?
Is this a general issue with NC circuits ?

Circuit.. Which is too bad.. They really are nice sounding headphones.
