Also what sort of transformer are you using?
It would be unpractical now to change if you're not using one. But toroidal transformers are a lot better for noise. The best you could get would be a potted toroidal.
For the amp I'm building I'm putting a toroidal in the back corner and just putting in a sheet of thick galv steel bent at a right angle to enclose it. I'm also keeping the signal wires far away from it.
