Not sure you can do closed Planar magnetic...
There are plenty of closed planar headphones, but they definitely sound better in open back, like most. The sound would definitely change in a closed back planar in ear

Yeah, these are bizzare to me. I can definately understand wanting to make a more competetive iem (we really need more open-back iems), but wow! They look absolutely terrible. Which is a shame, because the other two iSine are some of the most gorgeous iem's I've ever seen. Make a budget product, dont make me look and feel like a tacky ten year old. Because otherwise I would have been totally on board. Well, I guess I'll wait to see how they sound...

This will probably make me get the iSine10 instead (or even the iSine20), and my mother will be getting the m300 because it's still $50 cheaper.

Edit: After some thought I think I overreacted about the looks. I still think the blue logo on white was definitely the wrong move and I still don't like them, but I suppose it isn't terrible per se.

They look great if you could take the white plastic cover easily and mod to any color you like . Let the modding begin
I agree with you. If it was black, or gray, or some other darker color it would look a lot better

In the meantime, I was weak and got the Monoprice Monolith M300 planar in-ear because there was an open box for $99. Couldn’t pass it up, and that certainly at least delays if not replaces the Sine LX slot for me.

I just did the same thing today :P

IMO your m300 purchase should replace the LX. As a suggestion, purchase Comply comfort tips. 600 series. Great fit, and fills out the frequency range. Provided silicone tips sound "wonky". For better comfort you can purchase a different and lighter cable on Amazon. I compared m300 to iSine 10, using same tips on both and noticed no easily discernable difference. Last caution. Worst case, the ear clips will break. If that happens and you aren't a fan of the ear hangers, you can purchase iSine clips as a last resort. Just saying. Love my m300 with the comply tips or the provided foam tips (warm sound signature) in the m300 box

Thanks for the tips, particularly on the tips, seriously. Nice thing is I just got in a package of the Comply 600 for my KEF M200 as they were suggested to me for that.

I honestly didn’t expect them to come near the performance of the iSine 10 even with EQ, so that’s very promising. Re: cables, I have one spare MMCX and also happen to have a Bluetooth MMCX cable coming in soon from AliExpress.

The ear clips are what worry me the most, and you’re saying I can use Audeze ear clips and that they sell them?

Yes they sell them. Unfortunately they don't sell them alone. You have to get the whole accessory kit. https://www.audeze.com/isine-accessory-kit
I love the m300 because I enjoy them, with the comply tips, without eq. I'll add a little bass when desired, but they have adequate representation throughout. Don't know if you're Listening on phone, dap, or external DAC/amp, as that will all make a difference. I use a Dragonfly red paired with a JDS Labs C5 as a portable rig. It's fabulous. You shouldn't have any complaints, especially for the price. As far as Bluetooth mmcx the Mee electronics and the westone cables have AptX. I purchased the Mee electronics cable. Only "issue" is the curved cable used for Shure and the like Iem. I simply switched left and right, turned them inside down, and have the cable over my ear. I actually prefer it that way now. Takes a little more pressure off the ear because the cable is now running over the ear, so I actually use them that way in wired mode too

I was about to pull the trigger on the iSine 10...the LX are just too jacked up looking. I think you guys have just talked me into the m300 instead. How is the bass on the m300?
Bass on m300 is adequate. You just need to use the right tips. All the silicone tips packaged with the m300 add extra treble but sound hollow. The included thin foam tips have a warm sound, slightly reduced treble and nice soundstage. Musical IMO. The other option is Comply comfort tips 600 series. These are great. Natural sounding, all frequencies are present. FYI m300 cable is heavy, but you can get decent MMCX cables on Amazon for $20-$40

$25 is actually quite reasonable IMO for the accessory kit, I may go ahead and order it ahead of time.

I’m actually glad to hear you don’t EQ them as I almost never do that and prefer not to have to.

I’ll be using them with an LG V20 and Sony Walkman NW-A35 out of headphone out, and possibly with my iPhone 8 Plus with dongle or Bluetooth receiver - while I have a Bluetooth MMCX cable on the way, I’m more likely to just use one of my existing Bluetooth receivers and just plug into one of those - I have an Elecom as well as a Sound Blaster E3.

I’ll use them out of a desktop DAC/amp possibly although more likely to want to use them portably.

Sounds like the deal then. I actually have a set of comply tips I bought on sale at Christmas and haven't opened. Looking on amazon at cables makes me wonder...can you use a balanced cable with these? I have a 2.5mm balanced output on my Onkyo dap and haven't haven't used it as none of my other cans or iem's have a balanced cable. Hmmm...

Well, if you can find a balanced MMCX cable then you're in business.

I received a pair of the iSineLX. Played "Flute Concerto in D" - Vivaldi. Focus is great...the flute piece is delicate and every note is distinct. The LX is a touch bright to me, but I'm a little sensitive to highs anyway. Bass is outstanding. "Roar" by Kashiwa Daisuke is nicely done, but somehow veiled. Lows are resonant. I expected a little more out of Bach Toccata and Fugue. The depth didn't seem to be there.

I then ran the Bach piece through the Reveal app and got a ton of distortion at the beautifully deep part around 49 seconds in. The Reveal app really makes the LX shine, but like I said, the lows are negatively impacted by some serious crackling. Very disappointing. I do think Reveal (app/plugin) adds depth and really opens up the sound. Cymbals are much more crisp and satisfying. Most lows are just impressive. "Bach Suite no. 2 for cello" from Chesky's "Sensational, Fantastic" in 24 bit is just about the perfect track for the LX.

So that's what I got out of it, but I'm a noob and I apologize if my descriptions are not in keeping with sanctioned lingo.
