Is Windows/Mac audio better than Linux for audio?

I have heard that Mac is considered better while doing audio recording and editing

You can't get much lower latency than Linux.  Install the real-time kernel and make a few adjustments to ALSA.  With Linux you have such control that you can even control the number of packets of music data being send to each processor and their timing.

Check my web site under Linux Audio.

Thanks Dynobot, i use Linux mint, then installing the real-time kernel and configure Alsa is enough? is necessary install Jack?

Don't need Jack...

Yep, the rt kernel and alsa should do it, besides that you might want to fine tune a bit with the buffer settings.

Just curious, did you use any of my instructions?  If so did you get huge up anywhere?

Huge is relative so no need to go there.  IMO everything makes a difference how big it is or how much it matters is up to the listener.  You sound like you are in the Bits-R-Bits camp, which is fine, it means that you never need to upgrade Dac's or change software based on sound, because they all sound the same as long as its bit perfect.  In the long run you save a lot of money and effort.

Not quite. The DAC converts to analog and bits is bits no more. But up to that point, yeah, you can save a lot of money by believing in science instead of magic.

I just think as long as software is not doing anything in the chain there should be no difference.  Any change or modulation is due to faulty software imo.  I don't have enough experience to really be able to tell what timing and jitter can do in the DAC stage, but this makes more sense to me. As far as software is concerned as long as it is bit-perfect I personally have not heard any difference.

Dac's are a different beast all together, and much more can go wrong.
