Hello

Im new to this whole audio scene and my main source right now is either straight from the iPod or straight from my HP laptop. I was considering something better for my laptop and i came across this cheap little DAC. The price seens cheap but i guess it sounds a bit too good to be true. So what do you guys think

Thats a soundcard not a dedicated DAC. I think you would be better off with a USB DAC + an amp, or combo unit like the Firestone Fubar III.

I haven't tried that card, but it looks pretty convenient. As far as sound goes external is usually better, but not all external is better of course.

Very tempted by the cheap price. Would it work as well as say.... a total bithead?

I guess this could be the same as or similar to the built-in S/PDIF on MackBook Pro laptops. Just a wild guess though. Price is not always indicative of quality so for $30 it might be worth a try. If it sounds good to you then awesome!
