Would this work the same as the original supplied with the Xonar DX? I don't know why they are calling it a mini plug...

It should work. I lost the mini-adaptor supplied with one of my DACs a while ago and purchased a similar cable. No problems. Radio Shack used to make a cable that you could switch from regular to mini at one end. Not sure if they still have that.
