is there better CD sound than the Sony D-EJ2000?

I consider the D-NE10 a considerable step up in sound over the D-NE2000. Everybody has a different likes and dislikes in sound and the head/ear phones play a huge part in the final determination.

I am extremely happy with the combination of the D-NE10 and the Sennheiser PX100.
