Is there any point to wrapping DIY interconnects in plumber's PTFE tape before sheathing?

Hi All:

So lots out there kind of on this topic but just not sure I understand it all. I'm using Mogami 2964 cable sheathed in paracord (and sometimes techflex type stuff) for RCA interconnects.

Should I wrap the outside of the 2964 cable in PTFE tape before I put on the sheathing or is that silly/pointless? Will it do any harm or is there only benefit? (Or neither...)

Thanks!

Maybe it lets you slide on the paracord easier, which can be a real problem, depending on the paracord diameter relative to the cable. Other than that, I see no point.

Thanks, I'll skip it.
