I have been asking here and there over the years but never got a definitive comparison between these two headphones. People always chime in and compare the sr80 to the sr60 or the 60i to regular sr80s etc...

I'm about to buy one of these lower end "i"s and gonna be mainly using them with my ipod 5.5g for hanging out/chilling at my porch so any semi-detailed comparison in sound signature between these two are welcome. Bass/mids/detail/balance/etc...

I'm not gonna get any higher end ones because I dont like using an adapter just to use with the ipod.

I've owned both. The same comparison results from the SR60/SR80 is the same in all regards for "i" versions. It's been a while since I've had both, but if the cable is the thicker, you might find it annoying and too heavy for portable use.

Also, for the same price as the SR80i, you can get the Alessandro MS1i which gives a smoother sounding signature and is closer to its SR125i cousin.
