Is the price of the T1 justified?

How would you say the DT880 and HD800 compare if you had no idea about the price tag of each respective headphone and simply judged them on the sound?
The 800 is clearly more resolving. Images much better, wider soundstage. Itvreally does everything better. My pair is heavily modded to tame the treble spike

I still find DT880 better than HD800 with some rock and metal music where HD800's treble peak seems too much and DT880's slightly fuller bass plays a nice role. Other than that, yeah, HD800 is kind of an improved, much more capable DT880.

I have heard that the bass in HD800 is very weak, do you agree?

I wouldn't say very weak, but it's clearly on the bass light camp. HD800 doesn't add any warmth to the sound.
Very close to DT880 in this regard.

Take a look:

HD800: Green Trace - - - DT880: Pink Trace

Hi!

For me, what i have observed is that, as the prices go higher the difference in the sound have "subtle" differences. I would like to use the word "subtle" because it could stand as refinement, better soundstaging etc. but keep in mind that most of the products still have their house sound. I have heard the DT880 and the T1 (though not side by side) but there are certain differences like the mids in the T1 has fuller tone compared to DT880 which in my opinion is slight V shape sounding. T1 also has this all metal construction and feel that could make you think that this is a more well built cans compared to the DT880.

As some of the people said, it is up to you if you want to pay more for those "subtle" differences.

:)
