The Philips 963SA costs $500-600 in Sweden. Is it worth the money? (I'll probably be using it for CD/SACD only.) The NAD 541i costs less, but I didn't really like it with my phones and my amp.
Thanks for helping me out! =)

try to audition one. Only you can decide if its worth for you or not. Is there much of a used market where you are?

Well, I'll see if I can get to audition one, but these Philipses are, unfortunately, quite hard to find in Sweden. Most stores that sell Philips are low-budget stores, and they usually don't keep the more expensive models in stock.

On the other hand there are a lot of HiFi-stores, but they don't sell Philips... As the players are hard to get hold of in the first place, my chances of finding a used unit seem to be quite small.

AudioGon.com

Should be easy enough to find the Philips there for under $300 then add some shipping and you have it in Europe for ~$330US.

That said, with so many great Euro companies, and you not paying import on them, look elsewhere.
