I am seriously considering the purchase of the 325i but I want to know if any of you lucky owners out there feel the weight is too heavy for prolonged use.

Also do these things come in any other color than gold?

i haven't seen the 325i in person, so i can't comment on weight, but i can tell you that gold is the only color that they are available in. it is to commemorate Grado's 50th anniversary. if you don't want the gold, however, alessandro has revamped their MS-2 using the basic 325i design, and it comes in the standard silver.

I don't find them too heavy at all (Team Iron Ears)......but others may be a little more sensitive then me.

You can the the MS-2, which are silver if you are really turned off by the gold.

Very heavy, and it causes a sore neck after about 27 minutes.

I used them BRIEFLY at the Chicago meet...they didn't seem too bad. I can't believe that the PS-1's aren't significantly heavier, and I didn't mind those. Dunno....

btw the fatboys do come in one more iteration - someone said they bought cans from todd and the 325i came in silver with gold lettering. WHAA? whoever that was, speak up!

No, not as heavy as the HP-1/2 but the weight is concentrated on the earcup area, not "spread out" as with the HP or Sennheiser 600/650. For me, I tend to feel this as weight on the sides of my head, compared to the RS-1 which is wonderfully balanced.

24 carat gold isn't cheap. No more golden cups, just gold lettering.
