I've heard its nice for the Senn 650s, but is the Gilmore Lite TOO bright for ER-4S?

Heck, no. IMO it gives them ultra-transparency. A couple of times I've had to reach up and feel to be sure I had the Etys in...it was like the appliance disappeared and all that was there was the music.

I am not sure why the Gilmore-Dynalo series has a reputation for brightness. It seems to me that they are quite neutral. I would suspect the headphones or other tone control within the chain are causing the issue.

When I reviewed the Lite, I primarily used the Ety's and I liked the amp a lot. I didn't find the combo bright in the least.

I have a headamp v2 and ER-4S sitting on my desk right now. No brightness.

The Gilmore amps pair wonderfully well with the 4s. I've used that as a work combo for a long time and it's first rate all the way.

It will depend on your source.

With a good source, I did not find the Gilmore Lite (or any of the Dynalos) to be bright.
