Ok, I’m ready to take the plunge. Here’s what I want to do. I have three players iPod (lossless), H120 (rockbox/flac) and Shuffle (aac), I will be using my notebook with Redwine’s USB Select as a transport feeding an external DAC. I will also use the H120 optical-out to feed the DAC. I currently use the iTunes smart playlist feature to maintain playlists for syncing, i.e. MyRating 4/5 star etc…
My plan is to rip Flac using EAC and replace iTunes with Media Center 11. From what I can tell Media Center can handle the smart playlists and multiple players and deliver bit perfect via ASIO. The only tradeoff I see is using MP3(320) for my ipod instead of lossless. I’m sure I can’t hear the difference.
Did I miss anything?
