Is it safe to turn the amp volume to full?

and let the dac control the volume? 
 
my mdac has a remote and I can get a more precise volume doing it this way. will it damage the amp though?

Should be fine. Just be careful when you're turning on your amp for your phones depending on what gain setting you have the amp at.

I do the same with my Bryston BHA-1. The amp seems to like it. Especially that is a class A (full output at all time with volume serving as an attenuator).
 
I have excellent results so far.

The M-dac volume control is digital and well implemented. You shouldn't have a problem.
