Is it possible to recable the Grado PS500 without sending to Grado?

Apologies if this has been asked before. I'd like to recable my PS500, but some quick research suggests that this is only possible by sending them back to Grado. 
 
Has anyone here successfully recabled their PS500s? Thanks!
