Is it ok to split a line level signal?

Does your amp need both inputs connected? I can't see a reason for this and using both if it only needs one won't help anything.

Using a splitter should be fine with almost any source.

Actually I want to use a crossover of an amp that´s why I need "two" inputs.

There's no reason to use both inputs to the amp with the same source. The purpose of the two inputs is so that you can switch between to different sources--say a CD player and a television.

edit: what do you mean by a "crossover of an amp"?

Only thing I could think of would be using a subwoofer amp that sums L&R channel from a single LFE output of a HT receiver. Wouldn't achieve much besides increasing the level by 6dB, however.

It's for my car rig (I'm getting my drivers license

).

The radio has only one preamp-out (rear). I'd like to connect it to an amp and use its high- and low-pass (crossover). So I need the same signal for both the front-speakers- and the sub-inputs of the amp.
