I am aware of the multiple versions of the EX082s and audible variance in quality (unfortunately), but the version I have at the moment is just marvelous (the one on the right). After ~30 hours of burn-in (pink), the lows, mids and the highs opened-up and created an enveloping soundstage comparable to the ATH-AD700. It sounds even better with a little help from B and T (inc the EQ). Sadly, the hybrid design doesn't provide adequate isolation, which can cause the sound to become somewhat too airy and baseless. However, in doors, it is just perfect
.
After trying Customs 2s, CX95, Creative EP630, JVC HA-FXC50, Goldring GX200 and Radiopaq Jazz, EX082 always produced the kind of sound-signature I always adored.
So am I alone on this or are there any others who also love the EX082s?
PS: I'm using the JVC HA-FXC50 as a stop gap measure atm (outdoors). Hopefully in few months, I'll be able to up-grade to the Audeo PFE 112.
