Is it bad to have low impedance earphones paired with a higher rated output source?

Australia, mate.
I've been looking at the Fiio range of DAP's lately and I've noticed that their output impedance is from 16/18 ohm to higher.
I'm using the ATH-IM70 which have an impedance of 10 ohm.
Would it cause damage to the earphones to use them with a high impedance output source?

Portable FiiO products with headphone amplifiers usually have an output impedance of less then 1-Ohm.
Where are you reading about output impedance of 16/18 Ohms or higher?

I saw it on this thread :http://www.head-fi.org/products/fiio-m3-digital-portable-music-player/reviews/15005
"output is rated with 16-100 ohm impedance and power of 50mW at 16 ohm"
and the specs advertised on their website with 'drive ability' of 16-100 ohm.

Mind you I'm quite ignorant when it comes to these things, so I could be completely wrong.

Guessing what is should be saying is rated for headphones that are from 16-Ohms to 100-Ohms.

Checked around, the M3's output impedance is 0.4-Ohms (less then 1-Ohm)
http://www.headfonia.com/review-fiio-m3-ultra-portable-audio/3/

"Fiio publishes the output power as 50 mW into a 16 ohm load,
or 30 mW into a 32 ohm load,
with no separate gain boost switch. Output impedance is a very low 0.4 ohm."

Your Audio Technica IEMs should work fine with the M3.

Ah, good stuff. Thanks for that!
