i know the cable is ok to detach but the earcups?wouldnt friction be involved thus causing wear and tear?
is headroom's claim that the sennheiser hd497's earcups are detachable correct?

I have detatched them plenty of times and they have remained in the same condition. The headphones themselves still suck, but that's aside the point
