i see you have many unanswered post here on the mkIII. the mkIII is a very powerful and plenty of tight slamming bass, adding a sub is not needed. a good dac is a must to get the very best of the mkIII.  I would look for a used  HRT Music Streamer II+ here or ebay worth the money trust me i used that setup for a couple of years now. ive added pangea solid silver usb cable and I hear more detail and clearer sound with better bass. I know im going to here **** about the usb cable but that's what I hear. ive also added a better power cable to the mkIII the pangea 14awg c7 sound blacker cleaner and tighter bass.

please don't skimp on the dac the mkIII is one of the best sounding pc speakers out there.

I was thinking of getting nfb-11. After doing much research, I heard the ud120 is comparable to dragonfly. And dragonfly is comparable to  HRT Music Streamer II+ and  HRT Music Streamer II+ is comparable with nfb-11. Now what!?
