iRiver U10 -- how is the sound?

the clix has one more gig than the highest capacity U10 and is priced good. the clix has a better GUI for showing off album art and it supposedly has flash lite 2.0 over the U10's 1.1. The GUI for the Clix was built from the ground up and not just building upon the U10.

Seems just rebranded with a better GUI. Might as well get the 2gb version. Video on it would be great.

The iRiver U10 with 2 GB is available for many months in Europe.

It's a rare occasion that we get better models than the rest of the world.

However, is there a real difference of U10 and Clix, other than capacity?

I don't see much of a difference between U10 and Clix:

http://www.iriveramerica.com/prod/ul...0/U10-1GB.aspx
http://www.iriveramerica.com/prod/ul...2GB.aspx#specs

1/2, 1 or 2 GB;
U10 rated at up to 34 hours of music, spec about 28 hours (LCD off)
Clix spec about 25 hours

The cradle docking station suits both clix and U10.

I still feel that the Clix is the same as the U10 2 GB, which is available in Europe since 2005-07. But the navigation seems to be improved. I just ordered a U10 2 GB at http://www.mp3-player.de/artikel.php?ArtNr=2076 (around $220). Hopefully there will be a firmware update when navigation is smoother indeed.

Clix includes "carry case with screen cleaner" for $199.99 UVP,
U10 is still $249.99 (1GB) and $199.99 (1/2 GB), while street prices are much less by now.

yes, i think it should be mentioned that Micro$haft and iriver worked together (dont know how close or anything) so that the Clix would work seemlessly with the upcoming WMP11.

Dont knock till you try it.
