ya...i know it has optical out... but the question is whether the optical out support CD only (as like all other PCDP) or support mp3 as well.....

why would you need digital out if your music's already compressed?

'cos i can bypass the internal DAC and hook up to better one... in home or another portable DAC.....

compressed music don't necessarily sounds bad.... it depends how much u compress it....

Yeah, MP3 can still sound pretty good with a good DAC, or even a good soundcard.

At US$250 it's expensive but understandable, considering all the features. At $US355, it would be outrageous.
