Hey Guys,
I remember there was a thread about this player a while ago. Looks like they are shipping them now. Go to http://store.yahoo.com/iriverco/ or www.buyiriver.com. I found some more pictures of it here: http://down.iriver.com/sampleimages/page_01.htm The price is a little steep ($199) but Iriver makes good products (they were the original manufacturer of the RioVOlt line). IF somebody gets one...post a review..i'd like to see what others have to say before I shell out the cash for it.

Looks like a really awesome player. If the battery life is long enough and the sound quality good enough, I'd say it is easily worth the $200 price. Unfortunately they use the Sony style auxiliary battery compartment that hangs loose if not carried in a bag, but at least they include it. In this day and age where a lot of companies are either combining the line-out and headphone jack, or just eliminating the line-out jack altogether, it is a welcome surprise to see a line-out jack plus what looks like two headphone jacks. It's biggest shortcoming might be no LCD on the player itself. This is merely an inconvenience on regular PCDP's like my Sony 915, but if anything happens to the remote on the Slim-X, the player will be almost useless for navigating through 100 songs on an MP3 CD.

i agree...if anything does hapenn to remote...the player is basically useless. Hopefully it will be built sturdily....well just have to wait and see...
