but i also go to general settings, display, LCD settings, LCD Mode, Inverse

I actually did this because if I get my iHP-120 into a venue, I don't want the LCD to be too bright to be spotted.

Interesting... maybe I was so surprised by the quality difference between the headphone outputs of the iPod and the Iriver that I tended to consider the further improvement brought by the amp to the Iriver as relatively neglectible... I'll try again

Never tried the headphone out of an iPoo. But yeah, an amp with the H120 is definitely worthwhile. Not to slag the H120, either. I *LOVE* the thing. But it has some weaknesses, which thankfully can be nicely rectified.

How I worded it would be technically correct as the data goes "to" the DAC (not "through" as the data is actually intercepted and converted to analog)...then it goes "through" an amp.

I didn't elaborate further as this is a pretty knowledgeable audience here.
