A couple of iriver questions :

- How do you scroll? Is it a jog dial or button based?
- Can you operate the FM and the player itself without the remote?


Argh, over here, they don't have the black version of the player, only the silver/gold remote

from pictures, gold isnt all that bad, i actually think the color makes it look "rich"

 

[Sweet Spot]

1) Have you ever seen pics of the iHP ? That nubbin in the middle of it is the epi-center of it. Which is what your thumb will be on most of the time if you're not using the remote. It scrolls up, down, left and right. The columns scroll as quickly as you can nudge the knob, no hesitations.

2) Yes. The remote is not necessary to operate any of the units functions at all. It's just a nice convenience. (sort of)
