after searching for mp3 player that has top sound quality and not so expensive, i decided on a iriver flash.

899 or 799, which one should i get?? is there a difference in sound between them?

(I have the IFP-795 myself) AFAIK, the only difference is the appearance. They should sound the same. If you wanna make sure, you can download the manuals from the official website and take a look at the specs.

Both the 8xx/7xx series have been supplanted by the T10.
