so far there are some USB DAC for D/A convert, and which is a USB device and need a Start Point (USB Host Controller), I know the Iriver h3xx have the USB host controller yet, So does it can be used as a usb digital out => USB DAC, is it works?

I'm pretty sure what you're thinking of won't work, as the Iriver will automatically feed audio to the headphone out or line out. The firmware wouldn't know what to do with the USB digital out as is not programmed for it. USB Host Controllers in devices like the Iriver are only really meant to transfer files from a device like a digital camera to the Host's own hard drive.

I have a feeling modding the firmware to do what you want would be very complicated and probably not doable. In the long run it'd be easier to pick up one of the Irivers that has the optical out from eBay.
