Unless they designed the H3xx series to be able to play video (which is highly unlikely in my opinion) - this won't be possible. It simply won't have the hardware in place to process the viceo. Displaying video is a very cpu intensive operation - so if it wasn't designed to have that capacity - it won't be able to do it.

I have an h320 and I don't believe it would be anywhere near a full fledged video player. I heard that video will go around 15-25 fps (rumor). Anyways I just think it will make a nice little bonus~ because some digital cameras can also take video (not very good ones) so it might work pretty well in conjunction with a non-US h3xx series. I'm still hoping they will put gapless, true shuffle etc. along with the video implementation... We'll see soon.

I must say, I found the h320 sq to be well below par compared to ipod and rio karma. Just my opinion (using 192kbps LAME mp3s on all 3 devices).

iRiver has released v1.20 Firmware for the H300 Series. Here is a translation as provided by 1121. Many Thanks.
================================================== =======
Hello, this is iRiver.
The movie playback firmware for the H300 series has been upgraded to version 1.20. The supported video is still lacking, but we will continue to improve on parts that are possible. We are sorry for the delay in the firmwares for the iMP, iFP, H series, we will do our best to update them as soon as possible. We are aware of how long our customers have been waiting for the promised functions and we are sorry for the delay. We will continue to strive for your satisfaction.
Thank you.

the new firmware page says: (firmware 1.20)
http://service.iriver.co.kr/pds/view...04&p_name=H320
- this firmware is the movie playback firmware
- the valid formats are
VIDEO: AVI, Codec: XviD MPEG4 (Xvid 1.0.2 codec is recommended)
resolution: 220x176 only
maximum 10fps
bitrate: maximum 500kbps (below 450 kbps is recommended
AUDIO: Codec: MP3
bitrate: 128 kbps, 44.1KHz
- option to download "sample movie"
- the SRS function does not work during movie playback
- FF/REW, A<-->B function is not supported. Play, stop, pause, study mode is supported.
- The H300 movie codec was developed with the XviD 1.0.2 codec as the basis so any codec
below that version could result in problems with movie playback. (such as not syncing with sound etc)
- The TEXT VIEW does not work when movie is playing
- Movies longer than 1 hour and 40 mnutes will not play (we recommend you cut movies this long into segments)
- Subtitle files are not supported.
- There will be no converter program supplied. please use movie converting programs such as VirtualDub.
- Movie playback (XviD(v.1.0.2), 10fps, 450 kbps, MP3 44.1KHz, 128 kbps) will have maximum battery life of around 4 hours.

for their flash players, not their HDD. I didn't notice any difference between the h320 and ipod, though I probably didn't get to listen enough to the ipod. My friend is getting and h120 so we'll compare them then.

Vashin, you got video to work on the H300? If you did how good is the quality.
Does it sound like, or better then the H100 series? If it does, Iriver does it again. The best all around player.

I'm not sure if it sounds the same, or better as the h1xx's. I'll be checking soon, for my friend has just recently bought an h120. The quality for video is not bad, but like I said you need to do a lot of encoding.... and stuff to get it all to work properly. I can almost guarantee any video you have needs to be tweaked so it can be watched on the h320. The video feature is nice, but I still want gapless...
