I have been listening to the H320 with Shure 5Cs and ety4p and I am finding noticable hiss. Less with the etys. Is this a common event with this combo,or perhaps I have a faulty DAP. thanks

Your Dap's fine. Canalphones tend to let you hear the (usually) inaudible hiss. Not a problem whem there's music playing.

My Zen Xtra seems exceptional in this department. Better than any other DAP that I have listened to.

Using canalphones or my Senns, I can't hear any hissing, even in quiet environments unless I'm really straining to hear it. Under normal use, it's unnoticeable entirely.

I would say that was the best thing about the zen xtra. Mine had no hiss whatsoever, and no pops when the power was turned on or off. It's too bad it had so many other little problems, I would have gladly kept it otherwise.
