The 5gb ipod was mac only. You can use it on a pc with software called xplay or ephpod. I believe ephpod is free, at least it was way back when I bought my 5gb. Xplay has a free trial and then you pay, I believe, $29. Xplay can be found at mediafour.com. It is a very simple program to use. Basically, drag and drop.

I didn't know you could do that. When I had the 5gb, shortly after its release, that was not an option. Of course, back then there were no windows ipods.

if the 5gb costs 100 or more i wouldn't bother, just save up for the better ones with bigger storage

I have decided to get the Rio Nitrus instead. I don't need that big of a hdd, and it has usb 2.0....and the apple ipod had firewire, and I don't have firewire. Will this be a good source for My SR60's, and maybe my HD 555's? although I am probably always going to use my HD555's with my audigy and maybe an amp.

thanks
