iPod: Which case? (if at all?)

i use the podskinz - the problem with all of these is that none of them allow you do use the dock anymore - you have to just stick the dock connector cable in, then sort of prop it up - annoying.

I second bangraman's selection of the Contour Showcase. They are aesthetically pleasing, VERY tough, shock-absorbing, and now come in a wide selection of colors. It's almost cathartic being able to toss and stuff your iPod like it was machined from metal and yet be able to easily access all controls.

For the 3G iPods, it prevented accidental button-presses. For the 4G iPods, it will at the least prevent accidentally turning on the backlight.

I'm a big fan of the lajo www.xskn.com exo3 case. For the price, it can't be beat, as combined with an ishade, it offers complete protection/covering for your ipod, the primary reason I didn't spring for the vaja (I'm anal about my gear).

Uhh. Am I missing something? Since the 4G just came out this week, isn't it safe to say the third party machinery is in serious catch-up mode at this point? Right now won't there currently only be 3G models with the four holes in them?

i bet vaja will have a case out soon. they look to be of superb quality. i'd either go for a vaja case or some sort of aluminum hard case.

I also vote for the Vaja...best case by a landslide!

I use the iSkin eVo 'skin', mostly because I use the Pod out hillwalking and I can bung it in a pocket; I don't use the belt clip so I've taken that off.
One thing it does do is 'grip' whatever surface it's sitting on, it doesn't slide around much. Which can be handy but also means it doesn't slide out of a pocket that easily, and tends to gather dust and fluff a bit.
One other thing is that it doesn't fit in the dock with this thing on, which isn't normally a problem for me, but I'm beginnning to get interested in the line out feature...

Also, is there a case that has belt-attachment, but still allows easy access to the controls?

I use an Innopocket alu case for my Palm T3 it is amazingly compact and sturdy. I checked their web site and they only care for the ipod mini...
