Ipod vs. PDA?

Definatly the ipod, unless this PDA is different than the ones I have heard. Typically sound from a PDA is pretty poor.

Think about it. The MP3 player is designed for playing audio in, the PDA really isn't. If you are so intent on using the Axim to replace the iPod, then give it a try and see what you make of it.

i could be mistaken, but if i'm not wrong, the axim x51v uses the same wolfson DAC as an ipod; whether this translates to comparable sound quality is debatable.

If its that close, the axim must be a step up from most PDAs I have used.

i have a mda, ipaq 4555, nano, md-player and shuffle

the pda & mda sounds flat and the two i mentioned above also have a lot of background noise. if one less item makes that big of a difference, then get what suites your needs
