Quick question, do the 5G and 5.5G iPod Videos all share the same logic board? My 80GB 5.5G iPod Video needs a new logic board and the stores I've checked all show the same board for all the iPod Videos.

I'd have to say they don't all share the same board, but are probably compatible. I bought an 80gb 5.5g used on ebay, but the 80gb version of rockbox crashed repeatedly. After some research I found this build is also known as 64mb (the amount of RAM on it?) where the 30gb build is for 32mb.

I would assume more RAM (if that's what it is) would mean less drive reads, so the drive would last longer before dying and the battery would go longer between charges, but I'm happy with my slightly confused ipod.
