iPod touch or Samsung P2?

Me too-would prefer the P2 over rivals like LG FM37,but as I'm a hard-core iTunes and iPod lover, I may get the touch-32GB will hold everything-a touch of bit more than my 30GB that I have now.

i will admit to having bought two albums of drm from apple. they are not bad quality at all but, one album has the recording loudness destroy it: it peaks and distorts all over.

I'm considering the Touch V2 me'self babya - it's a nice player IMO. As for the iTunes music, I bought a CD or 2 from iTunes and it DID distort, and the tracks sounded hollow. Couple of yrs ago so they may have improved the quality.

So I've heard that the p2 doesn't do gapless, is there ever going to be an update for it? And I won't be out of date if I get the P2 will I?

gapless is abosolutely important for some of us: me. without it, there is no point in getting a music player

If i only p2 had gapless, then i would try to live with the 8 gig size.. but yes, i think i'm going to get the zune.. i already have over 80 gigs of just flac albums.. that's not including my mp3s :S

Yeah, gapless doesn't make or break a player for me, it's just something really nice to have.

Definitely don't buy a Touch now. Wait a few months, as the new ones may be announced.

The Touch would be the best DAP on the market, if its SQ was given a bit of a bump.

okay. gapless: i listen to mostly music without gaps. it changes the feeling of the entire album. i came from cd audio and md and never had gaps. when i moved to cowon d2, meizu m6 and sony 600 and 800 series, i was underwhelmed and upset.

my ipod has gapless and i am very happy

What's this I hear about the iTouch being garbage come wintertime?

It's just hearsay, but from what I've been told, its touch screen is entirely useless in the cold. Is this true? Is it a problem just with the iTouch, or anything with a touch screen?

This is a great concern for me, since, well, I live in Canada.

I agree. UI is simply phenomenal! I had an iPod touch when I received my D2, I spent one hour comparing SQ with and without an amp and even through line out dock. The iPod Touch went to that auction site.
