I'm going to get one of the two and am leaning toward the 3G because all I want is a 64GB DAP but I'm wondering....
 
Is there any difference in sound quality between the 3G and 4G?
 
I know the other relevant differences between the two, e.g. screen resolution, cameras, dimensions, etc. but since I'll want to listen to mp3's without any external AMP/DAC, I'll go after the one that sounds better.

I've not heard either, but I'm guessing since people have said that the iPhone 4S is just a bit better than the iPod 4G that the iPod 4G must be considerably better than the 3G iPod.

I run an iPod Touch 64gb 4th gen w/ a pair of Etymotic Research ER-4pt's
No complaints here.
