I hear people singing the praises of the iPod touch on here all the time, but I just don't get it. I used to own a touch 1g, but returned the thing because I thought it sounded pretty bad. I replaced it with a classic 6.5g, which I think sounds much better. I will admit that the touch had the best interface that I've ever seen, and internet was nice, too, but it just wasn't enough for me to justify the drop in quality.

Am I crazy, or does anyone else think the same?

1g touch is not a bad player but it is not a great player for music only. the 2g has some better sounding parts to it but the 1g has a softer sound. probably fans of x5 or the kenwood players would prefer the 1g and fans of a traditional ipod would prefer 2g except that it has better bass and thd.

We've got an Apple store in town, and I've actually heard the 2g but I wasn't that impressed. Granted, the pre-loaded music was probably all 128AAC, but still - not that great. The only good iPods that I've heard are the original/classic series and the mini.
