Hi. Need your help.

I am considering getting a portable amp (Go-Vibe V6, as of now) to connect to my iPod. My question is this: Can I just go from the headphone out of my iPod to the amp? Or will that somehow degrade the sound? I would rather not get the thing that adapts from the bottom of the iPod (would rather have all connections on top, as looking into a bag carrying both units).

You can, but you'll just be amplifying the output of a subpar op-amp in the iPod. You get better sound if you connect via lineout dock...IMO.

You can, but it will degrade the sound... it's not as clear & powerful and you have the bass problem of the headphone out.

If you'd like a small, cheap, and easily portable dock connector, look into the Sik Din.
